You Deserve Better Than Cookie-Cutter PT
-
Injuries That Won't Heal
You've tried rest, ice, and generic exercises, but the pain keeps coming back every time you return to training.
-
Limited Time With Your PT
Traditional clinics give you 15 minutes with a therapist before handing you off to an aide for repetitive exercises.

No Real Performance Plan
Your PT treats the pain but never addresses why it happened or how to prevent it from derailing your goals again.

What Oakland Athletes Are Saying
-
"Having had 4 sports-related knee surgeries and multiple ligament tears, I am no stranger to PT. In my countless experiences, Angela stands out as the top PT I have ever seen. The difference is stark — Angela really takes the time to understand your personal goals and makes the PT work with your schedule, your abilities, and your timeline. She doesn't just list exercises and send you on your way — in your sessions with her, she will work with you to find the exercises that will be most effective for you and help you understand the key points for each one. When I started seeing her, I had a goal of getting back to high level play in about 8-10 weeks. Angela helped pinpoint the specifics of my goal, taking the time to let me know what to expect, how to measure progress, and what we would focus on throughout. With her guidance, I was able to return to play in the time frame I wanted, and many of the things we worked on continue to be relevant and helpful."

"Angela Aie is truly an exceptional physical therapist. I came to her dealing with painful climbing-related injuries — first left elbow tendinopathy, then right bicep tendinopathy — that were preventing me from doing the sport I love. From the start, Angela impressed me with her deep knowledge of movement and recovery, especially in the context of climbing-specific injuries. She quickly identified the root causes and created a clear, personalized plan that combined targeted soft tissue work with specific strengthening exercises. Her approach was not only efficient and effective, but also empowering — I understood what we were doing and why, which made all the difference in my recovery. Thanks to Angela's expert care, I've not only returned to climbing pain-free, but I'm now stronger, more aware of my body, and better equipped to prevent future injuries."

"Angela has been great for my post-ACL surgery knee PT! I was ~3.5 years post-op and had pain and functional issues with bending my surgery knee while absorbing weight, which meant I couldn't properly run or jump. I was back to playing frisbee, but at reduced capacity and scared of reinjury since my legs were imbalanced. After 7 sessions over three months with Angela (with many weeks of disruptions due to my schedule), there's been noticeable improvement in my ability to absorb weight in my knee and I can now do exercises that I couldn't when we started. I also feel more secure in playing frisbee because Angela gives me guidelines around acceptable pain/fatigue levels. Angela does a great job of tracking my progress, tuning exercises to what I'm able to do, and giving clear homework instructions. She also adjusts our program to allow me to play frisbee, travel, and accommodate for other scheduling interruptions while still keeping an eye towards progress."

-
Your first visit is a comprehensive evaluation that lasts one full hour. We'll discuss your injury history, training goals, and current limitations, then perform a detailed movement analysis to identify the root cause of your pain. By the end of the session, you'll have a clear understanding of what's happening and a personalized treatment plan to get you back to peak performance. We'll also send you home with exercises tailored to your specific needs.
-
After your evaluation, your physical therapist will provide a recommendation based on your individual needs and goals. Most patients feel and move significantly better within 10 sessions. However, treatment length varies depending on the severity of your injury, how long you've been dealing with it, and what you're working toward. We focus on efficient, effective care — not dragging out treatment unnecessarily.
-
We are an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. This allows us to provide the highest quality care without insurance companies dictating your treatment plan or limiting your sessions. We can provide superbills (detailed invoices) for patients with out-of-network benefits. Average reimbursement rates are 20-70% depending on your plan. We also accept HSA and FSA cards as payment.
-
Unlike traditional PT clinics, you'll spend the full hour 1-on-1 with a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy — no aides, no assistants, no waiting rooms. We don't use cookie-cutter exercise programs. Instead, we create customized plans that adapt weekly based on your progress. Our approach combines evidence-based manual therapy with sport-specific training, proper equipment, and education so you not only recover but also perform better than before. We prioritize injury prevention and long-term movement optimization, not just short-term symptom relief.
-
Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely — athletic shorts or leggings and a T-shirt work well. Bring a water bottle and be ready to move! If your injury involves a specific area (like a shoulder or knee), make sure your clothing allows easy access for assessment and hands-on treatment.
